Route 101, the California Coastal Route!, Part 1, La Jolla

California has possible the most beautiful coast in the world. Thanks to Route 101, the Scenic Pacific Highway, we can appreciate this splendid wonder of the world.

Powerhouse Beach near La
Jolla, a historical site, with
its telltale chimneystack

Powerhouse Beach, La Jolla, is on the site where
one of the first resorts in Southern California was
built at the beginning of the 20th Century.

In this park near La Jolla Cove, we saw several
Torrey Pines.

Torrey pines bend gracefully over time.

At La Jolla Cove, certain parts of the coast have
cliffs, while others feature boulders, where seals
come and bathe in the sun.

she flew off towards the ocean.

Some animals make me feel
as if they want to say
something, even without
saying a single work

the "lifeguard box", did not
seem to be disturbed by my
presence, but seemed to
enjoy my taking his pictures
